TitanicThe Titanic museum attraction in Pigeon Forge will be welcoming a new exhibit on Friday, January 17, 2014! The exhibit will honor “The Unsinkable” Molly Brown, and feature new artifacts that have yet to be seen. Here’s the details about the awesome exhibit:

Titanic enthusiasts will be excited to hear that Helen Benziger, Molly Brown’s great granddaughter, will make an appearance at the attraction on February 14-15. She will be there to tell stories and share the experiences of her great grandmother.

Who is Margaret “Molly” Brown?

Known as Maggie during her childhood years, Molly Brown was an American socialite. She was known for her charitable work, including raising money to help poorer Titanic survivors, to ensure they could create a way of life after returning to New York.

She was traveling Europe when she heard that her first grandchild was ill. When she heard this news, she immediately decided to leave for New York. In order to reach New York, she had to board the Titanic on April 10, 1912. The Titanic would sink on April 15, 1912.

It is said that Molly Brown was watching from a deck when the Titanic hit the iceberg. She was then thrown into lifeboat No. 6, where she ultimately rowed throughout the night until a rescue ship arrived.

Why is Molly Brown called “The Unsinkable”?

Molly is known as “The Unsinkable” because she survived the sinking of the Titanic and helped others escape along the way.

Why should I visit the Titanic museum attraction in Pigeon Forge for this one exhibit?

In addition to the upcoming exhibit, the Titanic museum is home to millions of dollars worth of original artifacts. The interactive museum provides a fun learning experience for every member of your family.
