Christmas is coming to the Smoky Mountains a little bit early this year! You may be thinking that Christmas just ended, and you’re right, but for the 300 Santas that are visiting Gatlinburg, the holiday season is just getting started!
Over 300 Santas, Mrs. Clauses and elves can be found roaming the streets of Gatlinburg from March 15-19 during the popular Clausfest event. Whether you dress as Santa or an elf for the holiday season, you’re invited to celebrate the joyous Christmas holiday this March. At the Gatlinburg event, people will be able to learn new techniques for interacting during the holiday times, as well as discuss experiences with one another.
The Santa-themed event in Gatlinburg is held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center with the theme of ‘Keeping Christ in Christmas.’ Although this theme has been in use in the past, it’s quite popular. This year’s event will feature new workshops and activities that pair well with the theme.
Some of the Clausfest workshops for 2014 include:
- Magic and How to Entertain Your Audience
- Working with Pets
- The Mall Santa
- Santa Magic and Costuming
- Instant Photo Set Up
- Santa’s Visit (A must for beginners and advanced Santas)
- Mrs. Claus 101
Annual favorites will continue to be a part of the event, such as the Santa Parade in Gatlinburg, the SnowBall formal dinner and Santa Fashion Show.
Smoky Mountain visitors who will be in town at the same time of the Gatlinburg event will likely see Santa strolling the Parkway, so make sure to take your kids to see the Parade!
