4 Tips for Having a Great Barbeque at Our Pigeon Forge Rental Cabins

During the spring and summer months, there is nothing better than having a barbeque with the whole family! Amazing Views Cabin Rentals offers a great selection of properties with gas or charcoal grills, so you can have a cookout right at your cabin. To help you plan a wonderful barbeque for your next vacation, we have put together four tips for grilling out at our Pigeon Forge rental cabins:

1. Pack Everything You’ll Need from Home

Before you leave home, make sure that you have packed everything you’ll need for a cookout. While your cabin’s fully furnished kitchen should already come with dishes, silverware, dish soap, detergent for the dishwasher, and a starter supply of garbage bags, there are a few extra things you’ll probably want to take along. These items include:

  • Spices and rubs
  • Set of tongs
  • Meat thermometer
  • Steak knives
  • Extra paper towels and garbage bags

If your cabin comes with a charcoal grill, you will also need to bring charcoal, lighter fluid, kindling, and matches (or a lighter). If you don’t have any of these items at home, you can easily pick them up in Pigeon Forge.

2. Get Fresh Ingredients at Local GroceriesMother and daughter at a cookout on the deck.

Unless you live very close to Pigeon Forge, it makes more sense to pick up your ingredients at a local grocery store rather than bringing them from home. This will ensure that you get the freshest meats and vegetables possible. For a classic crowd pleasing barbecue, you can’t go wrong with burgers, hot dogs, and steaks. If there are any vegetarians in your group, get some veggie burgers, portabello mushrooms, or eggplants. Of course, side dishes like macaroni salad and potato salad are always a hit. Here are a few of the supermarkets near our Pigeon Forge rental cabins:

  • Food City – 3625 Parkway
  • Kroger – 220 Wears Valley Road
  • Walmart Supercenter –1414 Parkway

To find locally grown produce and a variety of special treats, stop by the Gatlinburg Farmers Market at 829 Glades Road on Saturday mornings.

3. Eat Outside

Your cabin’s deck is the perfect place to enjoy your meal. Kick back in a rocking chair or sit at the table as you chow down on your flame grilled meats and vegetables. Food just tastes better when you have the Great Smoky Mountains as your backdrop!

No barbecue is complete without dessert! For a campfire feel, try making s’mores on the grill. Simply wrap the graham cracker sandwiches in heavy duty foil and keep them on the grill for 4 or 5 minutes on medium heat. Your kids will love the ooey-gooey marshmallow and melted chocolate.

Ice cream is another great option that your family is guaranteed to enjoy. Either pick up a few pints and store them in your cabin’s freezer, or head on over to the Apple Valley Creamery or The Old Mill Creamery for a freshly scooped cone.
