Our stay with Timber Tops was absolutely fantastic! The view from Swingin on a Star was beautiful and breathtaking and the cabin was perfect! The only recommendation might be for housekeeping to pay a little more attention to cleaning under the beds as ours was a little dirty. This minor thing was nothing to downgrade the rating from less than 5 stars as everything else was great. We will certainly book with Timber Tops in the future when staying in the area again.

We always love our visit to the Smoky's! We love staying at Swingin' On a Star,it is a gorgeous cabin with a beautiful view. The only issues we had ,and not big issues, were the bulb by outdoor light by hottub was burned out, there were major cobweb on the head and antler of antelope head and the toilet paper was terrible quality. I could see where the cobwebs would be overlooked but I think a better quality TP should not be a problem.

My family and I recently stayed at "Swingin' On A Star" for approximately one week. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The check-in process was very smooth, and the office is very easy to find on the parkway. The directions to the cabin were great, and the map very helpful. The cabin itself is very nice, and well built, and our family felt that it was cleaned very well. The view is, of course, outstanding - one of the best our family has ever seen from a cabin in the Smoky's. Our family was impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked. So many pots, pans and other utensils that are very useful to have during a long stay. We liked the fact that the cabin essentially has two master suites, and the fireplace in the great room is nice. We really enjoyed the location of the cabin. It's off the beaten path just a bit, but has really good access to everything. Now for the opportunities for improvement. Let me say that, if I owned this property, I would want to know about the following problems. But beyond that, as a renter, when I am told that there are no discounts or deals on this property because it is just so exquisite and so in-demand, I am going to be a little less forgiving of flaws - and some of these flaws are significant. I'll list them briefly: 1) The couch in the great room needs to be replaced. The springs, or whatever supports a person when they sit on the couch, are shot. When a member of our group would sit on the couch, they would sink towards the floor. It was so bad that we started propping people up with pillows under them so that they would be at the appropriate height. The couch is uncomfortable and it is very difficult to get up from a seated position. This is a huge problem when the main piece of furniture that people would sit on in the great room is in this condition. If this were in our house, it would have been replaced some time ago. In your defense, the couch does look normal, but please try sitting on it. 2) The mattress on both beds need to be replaced. Both of these mattresses have significant peaks and valleys, that are visible to the naked eye, and only emphasized when one lays on the bed. Sleep is obviously important when one is on vacation, and these beds don't help that situation. 3) The TV system in the great room is problematic. I am fairly tech savvy, and I did appreciate the instructions in both the great room and theater room, explaining how to start up each system. But simply watching TV in the great room is just about impossible. Hitting the single button (that we are instructed to press) that we use to watch TV results in the TV itself turning off and on multiple times. Often, when the TV turns on, it is filled with very loud static, or alternately a fuzzy picture with no sound. We got the TV to work a few times, but I have no idea how we did it. Obviously, one should simply be able to fire up the TV in a great room and watch it with the family. I appreciate the high-tech system in this cabin, but it has some significant bugs in the great room that need to be resolved. (the system in the theater room worked just fine) 4) This note is not nearly to the severity of the first three, but our family did want me to mention it. We appreciated the efforts that went in to decorating the cabin. We were there shortly before Thanksgiving, and the the decorations were appropriate to that time of year. However, our family felt that there was so much decoration on the kitchen table, and on the kitchen counter, that it was challenging to find space to put our own belongings, food, etc. down. Again, in our opinion, this is not nearly as big a deal as the first three in this list. Let me close by saying that we would like to rent this cabin again, but at this time have no intention of doing so. I would love to hear that these few problems have been addressed with some new furniture and a couple hours of an A/V technician's time. Were these problems to be fixed, our family would not hesitate to sign up (right now!) for this cabin again next year. I don't know if this is protocol, but I'm happy to give you my email address (drcobbs@gmail.com) in case you have further questions for me, or if you would like to let me know that these issues have been resolved. I'm absolutely serious that I would immediately make reservations for this cabin next year if I were informed that these problems were taken care of. Thanks for taking the time to read these comments. I apologize if I rambled. Happy Holidays, Chris Cobbs & Family

REfrigerator freezer is in need of repair. Must have a air leak, leaving it to cold and over frozen and refrigerator not cold enough. We had a hard time getting the lock to work on the front door,my son opened the back and paper was taped inside you might get that repaired. Just a couple issues. Your cabin was beautiful and the view awesome. Thanks for sharing your home with us. Regards
