Attractions In The Smoky Mountains To Entertain The Young And Young At Heart

attractions in the Smoky MountainsThere are many attractions in the Smoky Mountains to entertain the young and the young at heart. When you are vacationing in the Pigeon Forge area, consider adding adventures to your plans in the form of zorbing, ziplining, horseback riding, white water rafting or indoor sky diving.

Zorbing is a “globe ride” where you roll down a hill inside a huge inflatable ball that is either dry or has six gallons of water inside the ball. You can go straight down or take a zig-zag pattern. Zorb attractions in the Smoky Mountains has offered this unique ride since 2007.

Ziplining allows you to fly through the trees at an exhilarating 40 miles per hour. Conveniently located less than two miles from Pigeon Forge, Wears Valley Zipline Adventures in Sevierville has 24 lines and rides that last one to three hours over 1.25 miles of ziplines that cover 43 acres. The super line is 275 feet high and 2,000 feet long. Two professional guides are close by in case they are needed. Your group can also celebrate afterwards in a large building.

Horseback riding is very popular, especially in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There are four concession stables in the park that have rides on well-trained horses through scenic mountain trails from mid-March until late November. Lasting from 45 minutes to several hours, all rides are at a walking pace and may have age and weight restrictions. Whether you are a novice or an experienced rider, you will be led by a guide who puts your family’s safety first.

White water rafting on the magnificent Pigeon River, only a short drive from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, is thrilling through Class 3 and Class 4 rapids and is led by an experienced guide. It is recommended that you wear tennis shoes, shorts and t-shirt, or bathing suit. All the needed equipment is provided, and you are briefed on rafting safety.

Indoor skydiving Flyaway Indoor Skydiving in Pigeon Forge is one of the only indoor skydiving simulators in the nation. After an orientation demonstration and training video, professional instructors assess the abilities and take the customers through safe skydiving in special suits. Even though a waiver has to be signed, parents are reassured of the safety for children and are able to watch.
