The Abrams Falls trail in Cades Cove is a 5 mile hike, round trip, and can generally take up to 4 hours. It’s best to start this hike earlier in the day, so you don’t have to return in the dark. The focal point of the hike is the Abrams Falls waterfall that stands only 20 feet tall, but is known for the amount of water that the waterfall pushes over the ledge.

Porters Creek

The Porters Creek trail is a moderate, 4 mile hike through old growth forest, with lots of history from early settlers in the Smoky Mountains. There is a beautiful stream that cascades down the side of the mountain. Be prepared for a one mile gravel hike for the first bit of the trail. If you hike this trail in the spring and summer months, you will notice a beautiful array of wildflowers and bright green trees and grassy areas. The trail is located in the Greenbrier area in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
