Are You Close To The Attractions?

Yes, our Gatlinburg cabins and condos are just minutes from action-packed downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but they are tucked away enough to give you the privacy and relaxation you deserve during your vacation.

What Do I Need To Bring?

A hairdryer, your toiletries, an iron and ironing board, all food items including spices, condiments, foil and plastic wrap, coffee filters, a blender, extra paper towels and garbage bags, bottled water, charcoal and lighter fluid, kindling, matches or a lighter, extra blankets and pillows, a baby crib and laundry detergent (if your unit has a washer & dryer). We also suggest that you pack a first aid kit and a flashlight which will be helpful if your mountain experiences a power outage.

What Do You Provide?

We will provide towels, bed linens, toilet paper, one roll of paper towels, dish soap, detergent for the dishwasher and starter supplies of kitchen garbage bags and hand soap for the bathrooms.

What About Fishing?

Fishing is available at the bottom of many of the mountains on which our cabins and chalets are located. A fishing license is required for all non-residents of Tennessee who are 9 years of age and older. Permits are available at Gatlinburg’s City Hall, the Gatlinburg Welcome Center and Ace Hardware on Hwy 321. Fishing is prohibited on Thursdays. A trout fishing brochure detailing stream locations is available at the Gatlinburg Welcome Center or by calling City Hall at 865-436-1400.

When Can We See Fall Colors And When Does It Snow?

The fall colors usually peak anywhere from mid to late October and last into the beginning of November; it just depends upon the amount of rainfall we get and the temperatures leading up to the season.

If you want to see snow, your best bet is to visit anywhere between Christmas and the end of February. Significant snowfall is most likely to occur in January and February. Our area is not known for being blanketed in snow throughout the winter. When it does snow, it does not stick around for long.

Will We See Bears At Our Cabin?

It’s possible but not likely. Once in a blue moon, a guest will say that he or she saw a bear, but the mountains on which our Smoky Mountain cabin rentals are located are not known for being populated with them. You will most likely see wild turkeys, raccoons and other less intimidating forms of wildlife. If you want to see bears, we suggest that you go into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park or visit the black bear habitat at Ober Gatlinburg ski resort.

What Is The Difference Between A Chalet and a Log Cabin?

Chalets are traditionally wood or cedar-sided homes and their interiors can feature accents of wood and drywall. In our area, chalets are not necessarily constructed with wood or cedar siding; they are often just regular homes that are nestled in the mountains. Log homes are constructed out of logs and feature them both inside and outside; they tend to feature limited amounts of drywall inside. We are proud to say that all of our Smoky Mountain cabin and chalet rentals are either traditional chalets or log homes.

Can You Suggest Some Great Restaurants And Attractions?

Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are packed with wonderful restaurants and places to visit. We are not affiliated with any of the places we are about to mention; they are just some of our personal favorites.

Our favorite Gatlinburg restaurants include The Peddler, Best Italian, Smoky Mountain Brewery, The Pear Tree Cafe and Desserts & More. All of them offer wonderful food and casual atmospheres. When we are in Pigeon Forge, we like to go to Johnny Carino’s, La Carreta Mexican Restaurant and the Chop House, which is actually located at the largest outlet mall in Sevierville.

As for the attractions, you cannot go wrong by hiking in the National Park. Stop by the Sugarlands Visitor Center which is two miles south of traffic light 10 in Gatlinburg. Tell a member of the staff the distance, degree of difficulty and what you want to see on your hike and they will suggest a trail for you. Kids of all ages will enjoy Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg and Dollywood in Pigeon Forge. The Jurassic Jungle Boat in Pigeon Forge is one of the newer Smoky Mountain attractions in the area. It features dinosaurs, jungles, caves, waterfalls and geysers; it’s a great way to cool off and rest your aching feet while occupying the little ones. WonderWorks is a fun, interactive place for the entire family. Be prepared to spend a few hours there; you won’t regret it. The Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge offers a great dinner show, but you will need to make reservations for it. If you are looking to take a trip down memory lane, then be sure to catch a show at the Memories Theater in Pigeon Forge.

If your questions were not answered on this page, do not hesitate to e-mail or call us. We want you to be well-informed and comfortable with your decision to stay in one of our Gatlinburg cabins or Pigeon Forge cabins.
